Join us as an Assistant Project Manager and you'll enjoy working on a huge variety of high-profile builds, with plenty of opportunities to build your career as a well-rounded professional. Let's get your unique skills, work style and background into the mix, and start shaping the future of nuclear construction.

Your role
  • As part of our Nuclear New Build business, our Project Delivery Capability team specialises in taking on complex engineering projects and opportunities that exist across the board, from technical leadership to project management. With existing relationships with the major stakeholders in the nuclear sector, we offer a hugely stimulating variety of work, within a team which is rapidly developing to support the delivery of New Nuclear Build. Our projects are on a global scale with opportunities across the UK, Europe, and Middle East, across a range of projects in both the Large Civil Nuclear market and the emerging New Nuclear Technologies market.
  • Working as an Assistant Project Manager, you will be working across our Nuclear New Build business, either leading the delivery of AtkinsRéalis engineering projects or embedded into our clients’ programmes. We will continuously provide you on the job training and support to navigate your career down the right path. We are recruiting predominately in the Bristol and Epsom locations where you will join a team with a diverse mix of people from all around the world. Our Bristol office predominately focuses on supporting the Hinkley Point C project, the Small Modular Reactor programme, and the UK EPR design centre, while our Epsom office will focus on supporting the Sizewell C project and our UKAEA client. As we support our clients you will be expected to travel and work from client sites across the UK as the role, project or secondment requires.
  • There has never been a more exciting time to join the industry as we engineer a cleaner, zero-carbon future for our planet.
About you

The opportunities we have are varied in size and nature and suit a range of project management styles and backgrounds; but as a consultancy, we are looking for enthusiastic, self-starting individuals who will thrive on being able to adapt and use a combination of best practice project management and exceptional people management skills, to support the delivery of any challenge that is faced.

Typically, the role and responsibilities of an AtkinsRéalis Assistant Project Manager will include:

  • Managing work packages under the guidance of a Senior PM, or Programme manager.
  • Building on an ongoing track record of delivery against defined margin, schedule and quality requirements.
  • Reviewing, measuring, and adhering to procedures and standards set externally/internally.

Ideally you are:

  • Excellent with communicative skills and motivated by working within a dynamic and diverse project delivery environment.
  • Adamant on new challenges and will be keen to learn, whilst also wanting to support others within our multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Motivated to build on your experience of Project Management in a Project environment, to deliver outputs/outcomes to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.
  • Familiar with stakeholder management.
  • Familiar with a range of PM tools such as MS Project, Online Stage Gates, Enterprise Advantage, iGate, JDE.
