A housing authority in Cambridge is seeking an entry-level administrative candidate. The role includes supporting the planning of affordable housing and coordinating with various stakeholders, including architects and engineers. The Cambridge Housing Authority seeks a responsible entry‑level administrative candidate dedicated to the planning of affordable housing with an emphasis on modernization and redevelopment of public housing. General responsibilities will include assistance with preparation of proformas, evaluation of physical improvement needs of properties, preparation of funding proposals and Requests for Proposals, and administration of contracts for consulting architect and engineers. Other responsibilities include coordination of activities involving consulting architects and engineers, resident councils, other CHA departments, and funding agencies. Occasional evening meetings with neighborhood groups are also responsibilities of this position.
The primary purpose of this position is to support the Senior Planner in the planning and development of new public housing or public housing modernization through coordination of activities of consultant architects, engineers, tenant councils, other Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) departments, and funding agencies. Incumbent may supervise a small clerical staff.
All activities must support the CHA’s strategic goals and objectives and produce results that accomplish the goals of the Planning and Development department.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in one of the social sciences and experience in housing or planning and public administration required. A Master’s Degree is optional. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
