Job description

As Assistant Project Manager, you'll work closely with our experienced sales and project teams to ensure the successful delivery of commercial catering projects. You will assist in all stages of the project lifecycle—from planning and documentation to execution and final delivery—playing a vital role in keeping our projects running smoothly, on time, and to specification. There will be a focus on site coordination, ensuring deliveries are safely received and installations are completed on time and to budget, particularly on projects ranging in value from £10,000 to £250,000. You'll assist in organising customer training, snagging and final sign‑off to client satisfaction.

TAG Catering Equipment is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic and expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands‑on experience working on diverse and exciting commercial catering projects across the UK. This role offers clear progression to become a Project Manager, as you grow your skills and experience with us. We are specifically looking for someone with project coordination or management experience in an equipment installation or construction projects based business, not in SaaS or media.

Responsibilities
  • Site coordination across multiple project sites
  • Assist in planning and executing project activities, milestones, and timelines
  • Maintain up‑to‑date and accurate project documentation including purchase orders, delivery notes, RFI logs and O&M manuals
  • Schedule internal and client meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting outcomes
  • Track and report project progress using spreadsheets and project management software
  • Support clear and consistent communication across project teams and with clients
  • Follow up on outstanding tasks and project snags, and assist in resolving issues as they arise
  • Carry out administrative duties to support the full lifecycle of project delivery
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a construction or fit‑out project‑focused environment
  • Formal project management training or certification (e.g. CAPM, PRINCE2 Foundation) (nice to have, not essential)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with a working knowledge of project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet)
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, detail‑oriented team player with a problem‑solving mindset
