Job summary

Jobtailor in Peterborough is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Delivery Manager in coordinating complex projects from planning through operation. You will work with project engineers and partner representatives to ensure on-time delivery while embedding sustainability and Health & Safety at the core.

You will help manage governance, risk and value processes, draft progress reports, and contribute to delivering design, construction and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering projects or coordinating complex tasks to support planned outcomes.
• Ability to build and sustain relationships with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to make decisions and escalate when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Driving licence is essential.
• APM qualifications or fundamentals are desirable.
• Engineering degree or relevant construction experience is desirable.
• Prior construction experience or CSCS card is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Delivery Manager by coordinating with project engineers and partners to deliver from planning to operation.
• Support governance, risk, value, health and safety, and reporting to governance boards.
• Draft progress updates and ensure high quality customer service and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Where appropriate, deputise for the Project Delivery Manager and manage contract requirements related to design, construction and commissioning.

Overview

You’ll be responsible for working with and supporting the Project Delivery Manager. Coordinating with Project Engineers and Partner representatives to deliver projects and work parcels effectively from planning to operation. The Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of projects on time while embedding sustainability principles with safety at the heart. They will ensure project efficiency through Anglian Water’s Totex Delivery Process and within Governance, complying with Project Management, H&S, Commercial, Risk and Value and DM deliverables processes. They may support, and on occasion deputise for, the Project Delivery Manager (PDM). They will deliver assigned responsibilities in accordance with project phase plans. They will identify and, where appropriate, manage risk and opportunities. They will coordinate and manage contract requirements relating to design solutions, construction and commissioning. They will coordinate stakeholder involvement in key decisions and provide high quality customer service and satisfaction. They will champion excellence in Health and Safety – reporting concerns or observations during site visits. They will draft progress reports and updates to inform Governance Boards of progress, issues, risks and opportunities.
