About the Opportunity

Assurance, Technology & Regulation (AT&R) team has a primary focus on three key areas: Independent Oversight & Assurance, Technology Development, and Regulatory Support. We have been directly involved in the Royal Navy's Nuclear Submarine Program for six decades and support the UK Civil Nuclear & Decommissioning industry.

Our Assistant Project Managers support Project Managers in planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

This role will provide support to both the Nuclear Support and the Independent Advice & Assurance Directorate teams within AT&R. Regular attendance at the Bristol offices and ad‑hoc travel to client sites and other Amentum office locations will be required.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a team with Project Managers to provide support and assistance with all duties related to project delivery, always ensuring that work is delivered safely and to cost, time, quality, client expectations and in accordance with internal governance.
  • Support the production of project documentation such as Task Specific Worksheets, Project Execution Plans and Project Quality Plans.
  • Monitor and control tasks to ensure that they are delivered to budget and schedule.
  • With support from the Project Manager, manage your own portfolio of tasks and small projects.
  • With support from the Project Manager, coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and document meeting minutes.
  • Support the Project Team with the production of Project Risk Registers by identifying and managing risks.
  • Contribute along with the Cost Engineer in the production of robust financial and task reporting.
  • Proactively interact and collaborate with members of the Programme Management Office.
  • Support the timely preparation of internal and external project reports.
  • Work in a safe and sustainable manner, adhering to the highest professional standards and "doing the right thing".
  • Support growth initiatives into related business opportunities.
Security Requirements

Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. The security clearance process may require non‑British nationals or dual nationals (i.e. those with British and another nationality) to be subject to additional evaluation, depending on nationalities held and the nature of the work to be carried out.

You will be able to perform these activities with guidance and supervision from the Project Manager.
