About the role

Are you ready to take your finance career to the next level? We’re looking for a driven and detail-orientedAssistant Project Accountantto support the high-profileA57 project. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic team delivering real impact in infrastructure and finance.

Location:A57, Mottram in Longdendale, Hyde SK14 6PW

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and managing schedules for applications for payment
  • Supporting the AfP submission process and liaising with project customers
  • Collaborating with operational and commercial teams to ensure financial clarity
  • Assisting with staff and agency reporting, onboarding, and HR-finance processes
  • Delivering insightful ad-hoc analysis to support commercial decisions
  • Contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Addressing timesheet recovery issues and preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitoring project costs and providing actionable insights
  • Jumping into ad-hoc tasks that keep our finance engine running smoothly

Who we're looking for

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English – Grade C or above
  • Part-qualified accountant (AAT/CIMA) – or working towards it
  • Experience in cost management, reporting, and reconciliation
  • Strong Excel skills and a sharp analytical mind
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Organised, deadline-focused, and eager to take ownership
  • A self-starter attitude with a drive to grow and learn
