Job summary

D R Newitt & Associates in Glasgow is seeking an organised Assistant Programme Manager to support major civil and construction projects through effective programme planning, monitoring and reporting. You will work closely with the Glasgow-based PMO team and report to the Programme Manager, helping develop and maintain programmes across pre-construction and construction stages.

Qualifications

  • HNC or HND in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong communication with technically oriented people and clients.
  • Knowledge of MS Project and Asta Powerproject for scheduling.
  • Commercial awareness: impacts on cost, risk and strategy.
  • IT literacy: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
  • DV security clearance will be essential.
  • Willingness to travel to regional offices/sites in the UK and Glasgow office 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Programme Manager and PMO in developing, maintaining and updating overall project programmes.
  • Develop and maintain outline schedules for pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Monitor contractor programmes against baselines and update trackers.
  • Track performance, risks, delays and intervention needs.
  • Assist in weekly and monthly client reports and progress documentation.
  • Maintain project progress trackers for client and team discussions.
  • Gather updates from PMO and Project Managers for reporting.
  • Ensure timely production of documentation and delivery milestones.
  • Support reviews and progress meetings with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Provide analysis and reporting to inform delivery decisions.
