Job summary

Imperial College London’s Dyson School of Design Engineering seeks an Assistant Professor to lead high-impact research in Fair and Responsible AI and to deliver exceptional teaching and student experience across design engineering and AI-related programmes.

You will advance research in trustworthy AI, contribute to curriculum development, supervise projects, and collaborate across Imperial and with external partners to maximise societal impact. Start date in 2027 with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Candidates should demonstrate a track record of research in AI with emphasis on responsible design and societal impact.
• Experience in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervising projects is expected.
• Evidence of leadership, collaboration, and external engagement to advance research funding and partnerships is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a high-impact research programme aligned with AI for society and design engineering.
• Deliver teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervise student projects.
• Contribute to administration, equality, diversity and inclusion, and School governance activities.
• Engage with external partners, industry and policy bodies to translate research into practice.
