Northeastern University London invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Computer Science. The appointee will be teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and provide service to the discipline in line with the evolving needs and aspirations of the Faculty and University. Appointments will be commensurate with experience and qualifications reflecting a record of demonstrated teaching and service excellence.
Core duties will include development and provision of innovative and inclusive teaching in relevant areas of Computer Science at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and professional service commensurate to career stage. Preference may be given to candidates with active interests in the relationship of Computer Science to one or more of the following areas: financial technologies, data-driven humanities and social sciences, cognitive science, information visualisation, machine learning and applied engineering.
Candidates will be considered across all areas of Computer Science. We are especially seeking exceptional educators whose teaching contributes to fundamental undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer Science including but not limited to:
Opportunities for disciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship abound: the Faculty of Computing Mathematics Engineering and Natural Sciences (CoMENS)’s grounding in humanics brings together computing engineering and natural sciences with humanities based on ground-breaking research and research-oriented teaching practices. While this position is primarily focused on Teaching & Scholarship we are supportive of candidates whose research demonstrably contributes to the faculty’s priority areas (namely next-generation software foundations of AI and human-centred AI).

The Faculty of Computing Mathematics Engineering and Natural Sciences (CoMENS) is undergoing significant growth at Northeastern University London. It is home to four interdisciplinary undergraduate dual-degree (in UK and US) programmes in the areas of Data Science, Data Science and Politics, Computer Science and Business, and Computer Science and Philosophy; four postgraduate programs in the areas of AI Ethics, Data Science, Computer Science and Technology Leadership; and five degree apprenticeship programmes in the areas of AI Data Science Digital and Technology Solutions and Biosciences.
The CoMENS Faculty plays a major part in Northeastern University’s global experience programme offering undergraduate courses in Computer and Data Science Mathematics Engineering Physics Biology Chemistry and Healthcare striving to inspire and equip entering students to be outstanding scientists.
