Job description

Assistant Product Manager

Looking for a role where your ideas can help shape the products used by thousands of customers across the UK and beyond? If you're looking to take the next step in your career and want to develop your commercial, analytical and project management skills within a successful British manufacturer, we'd love to hear from you.

At Autosmart, we've spent over 45 years developing innovative products that help businesses keep vehicles clean, safe and looking their best. As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an ambitious Assistant Product Manager to join our Marketing team and support the development of our market-leading product portfolio.

You'll work alongside our Product Manager, supporting the full product lifecycle—from identifying new product opportunities and launching exciting innovations, through to analysing product performance and helping shape the future of our ranges. You'll work closely with colleagues across Marketing, R&D, Sales, Operations and our Franchise network, giving you real exposure to every part of the business.

This role also offers the opportunity to visit franchisees and customers across the UK, helping you understand how our products are used in the real world and ensuring the voice of the customer is at the centre of everything we do.

Please note: This role includes occasional travel throughout the UK and, from time to time, overnight stays.

What you'll be doing:
  • Supporting the delivery of our New Product Development programme from concept through to launch
  • Coordinating projects, maintaining workflows and helping keep product launches on track
  • Analysing sales performance, market trends and customer feedback to identify new opportunities
  • Supporting product range reviews, pricing updates and lifecycle management
  • Visiting customers and franchisees to understand their needs and translate feedback into product improvements
  • Monitoring competitor activity and market developments
  • Managing product information across internal systems and supporting sales materials
  • Helping deliver successful product launches and go-to-market plans
  • Preparing insights and analysis for internal and international meetings
What we're looking for:
  • 2+ years experience in Product Management or a similar commercial, analyst or planning role
  • A degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Product Management or another relevant subject is desirable
  • Strong analytical skills with confidence interpreting data and identifying trends
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across different teams
  • Commercial awareness and genuine curiosity about products and customers
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with excellent attention to detail
  • An interest in manufacturing, automotive or technical products would be an advantage
What you'll get in return:
  • Competitive salary
  • Structured training and ongoing professional development
  • Career progression within a growing, award-winning business
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
  • Generous contributory pension scheme
  • Non-contributory private healthcare
  • Life assurance at three times salary
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Staff purchase scheme – take home products for free
Why Autosmart?

At Autosmart, you'll do far more than update spreadsheets or manage product data. You'll help bring new ideas to life, influence future productstrategy and work with teams across the business to deliver products that make a real difference to our customers.

This a great opportunity to get hands on and build and understanding of how & why the products work. If you're commercially minded, enjoy analysing data, love solving problems and want to build a long-term career in Product Management, we'd love to hear from you.
