Overview

As an Assistant Water Quality Process Scientist, you will be working within our operational Process Science Team who are responsible for ensuring drinking water produced for the public meets exceptionally high-quality standards. We work alongside operations to carry out performance checks on water treatment assets, analysing laboratory test results (taken from throughout the treatment processes through to the customers’ taps), whilst providing advice on optimising drinking water treatment. This is a new role, developed to provide assistance to the team, carrying out duties including data analysis, assistance with performance checks, administration of investigatory sampling, and administration of risk management systems. This role also supports operations in managing evidence for submission for internal and Inspectorate audits. In ensuring that water quality targets and standards relating to specific legislation are met, you will provide support across the business on operation, optimisation of existing and new assets to keep the supply of water to our customers maintained at the highest quality and monitoring efficiency of our treatment processes. With a proactive approach, willingness to learn and good communication and IT skills, this is a great opportunity to develop and progress within the water industry. This position requires visits to operational sites, so a full driving licence and access to your own car is required.
