The Role
- To act as a member of the care team under the supervision of a registered NMAHP Practitioner.
- To assist patients to achieve their care and rehabilitation goals.
- Provide support and evidence based care by assisting the planning, implementing, delivery and evaluation of care.
- Undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified area of care delivery.
- Use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, person centred safe and effective care.
Duties may vary depending on the team / department or assigned area of work.
Location: NMAHP Practice Development in Beckford St. The working pattern is 09:00 – 17:00.
What we need you to bring
- Formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent experience in a health/education/social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to the specific clinical area.
- Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
- Knowledge of the clinical speciality/area process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
- Ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills.
- Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Time management, planning and organisational skills.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
- Full driving licence holder.
Additional qualifications (optional)
- Additional qualifications in education, training, or facilitation.
- Quality improvement or audit training.
- Extensive experience working within AHP services, including advanced clinical tasks.
- Experience supporting and coaching new staff and colleagues.
- Experience designing and delivering training sessions and materials.
- Experience conducting staff assessments and providing feedback.
- Experience supporting work experience.
- Experience with feedback systems or data collection for service improvement.
- Experience working across professions (e.g. AHP/Nursing collaboration).
- Understanding of HCSW roles and development needs within AHP.
- Knowledge of NHS Scotland.
- HCSW Toolkit and Induction Standards.
- Ability to design and deliver bespoke and generic training sessions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and presentation tools.
- Familiarity with systems used in NHS Lanarkshire (e.g. MS Office).
- Awareness of feedback and evaluation methods for educational programmes.
- Understanding of work experience processes and pupil engagement in Lanarkshire.
- Person-centred approach to care and education.
- Calm, sensitive, and patient demeanour.
- Ability to manage competing demands and work under pressure.
- Commitment to promoting positive change and innovation.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
- Confidence in presenting to varied audiences.
- Ability to motivate and engage learners of mixed ability levels.
- Interest in sustainability and legacy planning for development initiatives.
Contract type
- Fixed Term or Secondment for 9 months.
- Part Time.
- 22.2 hours.
This is a part‑time post and the salary will be pro‑rata.

This role will be based in NMAHP Practice Development within Beckford St. The working pattern is 09:00 – 17:00.
