JOB BAND: B

CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time, fixed-term contract (up to 20th March 2026)

DEPARTMENT: BBC TV Social Edit Hub

LOCATION: Birmingham, Hybrid (2 days per week in office)

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £25,700 - £34,700 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The TV Social Edit Hub is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Junior Editor to join our team for 3 months, to help craft a range of supporting social content for BBC iPlayer programmes. The Edit Hub creates innovative, reactive content designed to engage young audiences across social platforms, supporting BBC iPlayer titles with clips, cutdowns, compilations, and original content for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. This is a great opportunity to shape how BBC content reaches and resonates with younger viewers.

  • Ensuring content meets editorial and compliance standards, working closely with producers and stakeholders
Essential Criteria

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Has good experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and some evidence of creating content for social platforms
  • Understands how young audiences engage with social platforms, especially TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram
  • Has a keen editorial eye and storytelling instincts tailored for social formats
  • Is confident juggling multiple tasks and thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment
Desired But Not Required
  • Some knowledge of Photoshop / After Effects preferable
  • Knowledge of latest trends and best practices in social video editing.
  • Experience in post production workflows and delivery standards
  • Editing longform and shortform content for social media
