Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Planner/Senior Planner in developing and managing construction programmes that are realistic, contractually compliant, and reflect how work actually happens on site.
  • Assisting with the production and maintenance of NEC3/NEC4 programmes for submission and acceptance, and updating them in line with contract requirements.
  • Helping to monitor site progress, gather data, and produce programmes and reports to support monthly reporting and client updates.
  • Assisting in the review of compensation events and variations, collecting evidence and programme information to support contractual submissions.
  • Helping to prepare and maintain project progress dashboards, reports, and programme outputs for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the commercial and project teams with programme-related information to support cost and resource planning.
  • Assisting in the development of tender programmes and supporting the preconstruction team with competitive tender submissions.
  • Learning from and supporting the Planner/Senior Planner and wider planning team in maintaining best practices, consistency, and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting site teams with short term planning on site.
Key requirements
  • A relevant qualification (or working towards) in engineering, construction management, or project management, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A keen interest in construction project planning, with some understanding of how projects are delivered on site.
  • Some familiarity with Asta Powerproject or other planning software is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within project teams.
  • Good analytical and organisational abilities, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Willingness to learn and develop a career within planning.
  • Experience or exposure to civil engineering or infrastructure projects would be advantageous.

Role will be based out of our Wales & Energy Bridgend office, blended with project visits across the UK.
