A health services provider is seeking an Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator to join their Cardiology Diagnostics Booking Team. Job Summary

Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator CDC - Band 3

Fixed Term Contract – 6 months.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to develop their administration skills and work within a busy team.

You will work as part of the Cardiology Diagnostics Booking Team, arranging appointments for patients and handling phone queries relating to the patient pathway of care, working alongside Cardiac Physiologists, Consultants and administrative colleagues.

The role includes answering patient queries via telephone and email, booking clinical appointments, ensuring capacity is used appropriately, problem solving and liaising with Clinicians.

Main Duties

The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients’ Cardiology diagnostic tests. Working as part of a multidisciplinary Point of Delivery team, you will provide support in the proactive management of the patient pathway for Cardiology diagnostic testing and ensure the entire pathway is managed smoothly. You will maintain high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer‑focused and knowledgeable point of contact, following Standard Operating Procedures and adhering to stipulated timescales.

Education and Qualifications (Essential)

  • Educated to A level or equivalent standard
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or equivalent experience
  • GCSE / O’level or equivalent, Grade C or higher in English and Maths

Education and Qualifications (Desirable)

  • Evidence of ongoing continuous personal development (CPD) and training
  • Secretarial qualification (e.g. AMSPAR)
  • Computer Literacy Course (e.g. ECDL)

Knowledge and Experience (Essential)

  • Experience using IT systems and patient data systems
  • Experience scheduling outpatient appointments and/or admissions
  • Experience working with patients and providing information about appointments
