Job summary

TLT LLP invites applications for an Assistant Paralegal in Bristol to support the Retail Mortgage Services (RMS) team. The role involves mortgage litigation work, lender sales, and related services, with emphasis on client service and accurate case management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We are recruiting for an Assistant Paralegal to join our Retail Mortgage Services (RMS) team in Bristol. This role is being offered on a full time basis.

As an Assistant Paralegal, you will undertake legal work in respect of mortgage litigation, lender sales, and/or other related services delivered within Retail Mortgage Services.

Your Role

As an Assistant Paralegal you will be responsible for the following;

  • Fee earning end to end case work including being responsible for your own cases allocated in accordance with resourcing thresholds, under supervision
  • Preparation of documentation, liaising with clients, customers (as and when required), third parties to progress cases through the appropriate process within SLA
  • Drafting correspondence
  • Reviewing incoming correspondence from third parties
  • Managing key dates
  • Ensuring Peppermint system is accurately updated to allow data capture and MI to be produced
  • Responsible for delivering an excellent client service through case management
  • Full financial management of matters with high level of financial hygiene specifically in relation to billing,
  • Play an active role in continuous improvement and change within relevant team and support Senior management team in that respect
  • Undertake work within the regulatory and industry frameworks, policies and procedures
  • Maintain a culture of positive behaviour and role modelling within the team
Your Skills and Experience
  • Degree, previous paralegal or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Accuracy, good organisational skills, ability to operate in a fast paced environment and flexibility
  • Good knowledge of Word and Outlook is required and experience in Excel, PowerPoint, interwoven would be beneficial
  • Desirable, but not essential, are proficient Excel skills (with basic and vlookup formulas, pivot tables, pivot charts & managing large spreadsheets) and the ability to export data to other spreadsheets and charts efficiently, whilst also being able to put together easy-to-read analysis
