Job summary

Olleco in Cannock, Midlands West, is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support drivers and the depot’s smooth running. The role emphasizes safety, training, administration and compliance within a growing, planet-positive business.

You’ll back the team with induction and refresher training, contribute to daily checks and licensing compliance, and help promote a proactive safety culture while developing your career in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• IOSH Managing Safely certification or willingness to acquire it.
• Strong administrative skills are essential.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Experience in transport or logistics is preferred.
• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, training and assistance to Olleco drivers.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the Midlands West depot.
• Focus on health & safety, safety procedures, compliance, maintenance, training, administration and rounds.
• Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed and defects reported.
• Support in induction and refresher training; assist with licence checks and paperwork.

With over 1,000 colleagues in multiple sites nationwide delivering excellent performance, we supply premium cooking oils, and collect organic waste, which is then converted into bio-methane, electricity, heat and organic fertiliser. Job Description

Assistant Operations Manager Cannock, Midlands West £30,000 per Annum, Plus Pension, BUPA Medical Cash Plan, Life Assurance, 22 Days' Holiday (rising with service)

This is the role that’s on offer for the right person:

• Provide support, training and assistance to Olleco drivers
• Contribute to the smooth running of our Midlands West depot
• Focus on health & safety, safety procedures, compliance, maintenance, training, administration and rounds

A little bit more about the role:

• Make sure that daily vehicle checks are completed by drivers and damage or defects are reported
• Support in induction training, training evaluations and refresher training as required
• Support in ensuring that working time checks, DQC and government licence checks are carried out
• Complete all paperwork and IT systems for your work and that of the drivers
