A health service organization in Dunoon is seeking two Band 4 Ward Based Assistant Nursing Practitioners. Are you interested in being part of the Ambulatory Emergency Care Team based at Cowal Community Hospital, Dunoon? If so this is the post for you. Our overriding aim is to support individuals to maintain their independence at home, prevent unnecessary admission and support people to regain independence after they have left hospital.
Our current Community Hospital Team consists of Rural Emergency Physicians, Senior Change Nurses, Staff Nurses and a range of AHPs and Social Workers who work collectively to deliver A&E and inpatient services. Our service covers A&E, day services, trauma, inpatient services and ambulatory emergency care. If you have experience in any of these specialties please get in touch to discuss specific opportunities. The team also has a direct interface with acute services within Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Band 4 Ward Based Assistant Nursing Practitioners to join our team. We are looking for motivated, caring and compassionate colleagues who can work well under pressure, are keen to learn and develop, and want to work within an emergency care environment. The Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit covers Ambulatory Emergency Care and Short Stay Assessment Beds. The unit admits unwell patients directly from the community and the emergency department. This is a fast‑paced and interesting environment to work in. Candidates should have excellent care values and enthusiasm to work, learn and develop themselves and colleagues within this challenging high‑pressure environment.
Ward Based Assistant Practitioners are required to have completed a relevant qualification at SCQF level 7–8. Examples of common qualifications:
Applicants must have very good command of both written and spoken English, IT skills and ideally have experience in an acute healthcare setting.
This is an ideal area to gain acute medical and critical care experience and be supported to develop your clinical skill.

Please see the job description for full detail of duties. These are fixed‑term posts, for 12 months, working from 8 am to 8 pm over 5 days on a rota basis in line with service requirements. Shift patterns are subject to change in line with demand.
