Job summary

Claires Court is seeking an Assistant Nursery Room Leader to work with children aged 2–4 at The Thicket, Maidenhead. This is an all-year-round, Mon-Fri role within a newly established nursery setting, alongside our Junior School.

You will work with an experienced team, support day-to-day running, lead the room in the Room Leader’s absence, and contribute to a stimulating learning environment while upholding safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 childcare qualification.
• Experience in an early years setting.
• Strong English and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Room Leader with day-to-day running of the room.
• Care for children aged 2–4 and provide a safe, stimulating learning environment.
• Assist with developing the team and lead the room in the Room Leader’s absence.

We have an exciting opportunity for anAssistant Nursery Room Leaderworking with childrenaged 2–4. This is an all-year-round post, working Monday to Friday at The Thicket, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 3QE. You will be working with an experienced team in a new nursery setting surrounded by beautiful grounds, located alongside our Junior School.

The Assistant Room Leader is a qualified childcare professional (Level 3) who works alongside the Room Leader to support the day-to-day running of the room. This key role involves caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment, assisting with developing the team, and stepping up to lead the room in the Room Leader’s absence.

To be successful in this role, you must be:

• Enthusiastic about moving to an Assistant Room Leader role
• Qualified to NVQ Level 3
• Experienced working in an early years setting
• Proficient in English and Numeracy
• Able to create safe, happy, and stimulating play activities
• A responsive team player
• Engaged with the School’s ethos, thinking creatively and reflectively within an open, honest, and hardworking team
• Able to demonstrate a strong and obvious commitment to pupil welfare and safeguarding and a clear understanding of Child Protection issues
