People Group Limited is seeking an Assistant MEP Project Manager to support the delivery of mechanical and electrical packages on hyperscale data centre developments in West London. You will work with Senior PMs and BIM/commercial teams to coordinate across preconstruction, design, procurement and handover stages.

The role suits someone with MEP/building services experience who wants to progress to a Project Manager role on major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with the delivery of MEP packages from preconstruction through to completion.
• Assist with coordination of mechanical, electrical and specialist subcontractors.
• Monitor project programmes, progress and key milestones.
• Support design development and coordination with engineering and BIM teams.
• Assist with procurement of subcontractors, equipment and materials.
• Attend and contribute to project, design and coordination meetings.
• Monitor installation quality and ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Work closely with commercial, planning, H&S, QA and commissioning teams.
• Assist with managing technical queries, RFIs and project documentation.
• Support testing, commissioning and final handover activities.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team.

Assistant MEP Project Manager

Tier 1 MEP Contractor - Hyperscale Data Centres
West London

We are currently looking to appoint an Assistant MEP Project Manager to join the team working across multiple major hyperscale data centre projects in West London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in MEP/building services who is looking to develop their project management experience on some of the largest and most technically complex data centre projects in London.

You will work closely with Senior Project Managers, Engineering Leads and the wider project team, supporting projects through preconstruction, design, procurement, installation, commissioning and final handover.

The Opportunity

Working as part of an experienced MEP delivery team, you will support the management and coordination of mechanical and electrical packages across multiple hyperscale data centre developments.

The position would suit an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or MEP Engineer looking to progress into a Project Manager position while gaining exposure to major critical infrastructure projects.

Previous data centre experience would be advantageous but is not essential where candidates have strong MEP experience on other major projects.

About You

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience within MEP, building services or construction.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, MEP Engineer or similar.
• Good understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services.
• Experience working on commercial, data centre, pharmaceutical, healthcare or other major MEP projects.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach and ambition to progress into a Project Manager position.
• Relevant construction, engineering or building services qualifications would be advantageous.
