A healthcare organization in York is recruiting an Assistant Medical Secretary to support the Acute Medicine department. The ideal candidate should have excellent administrative skills, audio-typing experience, and be able to manage patient queries effectively. This position offers 26 hours of work per week with a commitment to providing high-quality support. A range of benefits, including a generous holiday allowance and NHS pension scheme, is available.

We are recruiting for an Assistant Medical Secretary to join the Secretarial Team for 26 hours per week within the Acute Medicine department, based at York Teaching Hospital. You will provide support to the Medical Secretary and their Consultant Teams.
Excellent administration/secretarial skills and audio-typing experience/qualifications are required, as well as a good understanding of customer relations. You will be required to deal with queries from patients, Consultants and GPs.
You will be responsible for typing clinical and administrative letters, answering telephone enquiries and dealing with patient queries, as well as covering the Medical Secretaries during periods of absence.
The successful candidate will be required to have good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise the demands of a busy office and manage their time and workload effectively.
They will also be required to work unsupervised and communicate with Consultant Physicians and wider team members on a regular basis.
