Job description

We are recruiting for a part time Assistant Medical Secretary, to join the Secretarial Team within the Care of the Elderly Department, based at Scarborough Hospital. You will provide support to the Medical Secretaries and their Consultant Teams, typing clinical and administrative letters, answering telephone enquiries and dealing with patient queries, covering the Medical Secretaries during periods of absence, and multi-disciplinary team meeting work.

Excellent administration/secretarial skills and audio‑typing experience/qualifications are required, as well as a good understanding of customer relations. You will be required to deal with queries from patients, Consultants and GPs. The successful candidates will be required to have good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise the demands of a busy office and manage their time and workload effectively.
