It's a busy and exciting time for the brand and we’re on the hunt for a Assistant Buyer to join our growing Marketplace team.

The purpose of this role is to support the Buyer to deliver a profitable range that will be sold through the Marketplace model.

Your main responsibilities will include :

• Support the buyer to deliver the strategy, ensuring margin and profit targets are always met.
• Managing the outstanding orders along with supporting the Assistant Merch with PO commitment for each marketplace, replacing cancellations where possible and managing the line detail.
• Sound understanding of the Business Strategy and how that impacts your Department
• Responsibility for the development of the marketplace admin assistant, managing them and overseeing their daily tasks including CP management.
• Monitor returns rates and take necessary action, escalating to the buyer when there are issues at MG and style level.
• Work closely with BMD to support the Buyer to trade the range in-season, based on sales performance, returns and trends.
• Build and maintain relationships internally and externally.
• Take ownership of selected marketing groups to select a profitable range from the core New Look selection.

Technical Knowledge & Experience

• Able to support Buyer to build a comprehensive product range
• Understanding of supply chain issues / cost – ( product lead times / flexibility / supplier capability)

Able to support :

• Understanding of the marketplace set up
• Understanding of strategic needs of division
• Understanding of New Look brand and sub-brand strategy and key customer
• A knowledge of the current competitive international marketplaces (comparative shopping)
• Understanding BMD launch plans and phasing
• Ability to identify relevant product trends in global retail market place (directional shopping)
• Basic knowledge of the elements that make up the cost of a product
• Ability to review sales data and suggest commercial recommendations to Buyer and Merchandiser
