Job Description:

We are seeking a talented newly qualified team member to join our Private Tax team in Salisbury, which is responsible for delivering annual tax compliance work for a wide-ranging portfolio of clients.

As an Assistant Manager, you will be part of the delivery team that works on client compliance and client planning work, as well as yearly routine checks and practice development. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified tax professional to build their career in a growing team.

As an Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for a portfolio of clients which may include sole traders, partners, HNWIs, non UK residents, partnerships, and trusts.
  • Ensuring administration of the portfolio is completed including all aspects of compliance, accounts, tax returns, and tax computations.
  • Identifying possible planning opportunities.
  • Preparing reports for clients.
  • Attendance at client meetings.
  • Answering client ad-hoc questions and enquiries in respect of their personal tax affairs.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Relevant experience gained within a professional services firm.
  • Sound knowledge of private client tax issues and dealing with capital gains tax, inheritance tax matters, and a sound understanding of trusts.
  • Relevant experience of meeting deadlines for compliance and ad-hoc advisory projects.
  • Self-driven, organised, and willingness to continue learning and to be a team player.
  • Potential experience with people management.

Professional Qualifications and Education:

  • Newly Qualified Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Adviser.
