Job Title: Assistant Manager - Asset Maintenance & Standards - Kent

Location: Chatham, Kent (Travel between sites required; driving license essential)

Work Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: From £32,900 per annum

Job Overview

We are recruiting an Assistant Manager for our Wastewater division to support Asset Maintenance and Standards operations. You will be responsible for updating internal systems, tracking works, training records, hazards, and store audits. You will also attend compliance meetings, input pollution reports, and ensure maintenance standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage the team in the absence of the Field Performance Managers, deputising as needed.
2. Coordinate with technical planning and scheduling teams to plan complex works safely and resolve issues.
3. Support employee engagement and stakeholder consultation, monitor performance, and implement improvements.
4. Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with asset standards, health and safety, and environmental policies.
5. Maintain oversight of ISO standards compliance, assess risks, and manage hazards and audits.
6. Build relationships across the organization to support strategic goals.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will have a strong technical and operational background, with a focus on health, safety, and environmental impact. Experience in electrical or mechanical trades within a regulated environment is essential. Knowledge of wastewater treatment is highly desirable, but a proven operational background with a track record of meeting safety and environmental targets is acceptable.

Qualifications & Experience

• Background in electrical or mechanical environments.
• Understanding of regulatory and legal environmental policies, waste management licensing, and health & safety laws.
