Job summary

Quantuma's Manchester forensic accounting team is recruiting an Assistant Manager to work on disputes, investigations and valuations. You will support experts on cases, contribute to valuation work and help build strong relationships with clients and referrers.

The ideal candidate is ACA/ACCA qualified with some forensic experience and a desire to develop in disputes, valuations and investigations. The upcoming merger with KR8 Advisory will create clear career progression as the business grows.

Qualifications

Assistant Manager, Forensic Accounting (Disputes, Investigations & Valuations)

About the team

At Quantuma, our forensic accounting & investigations team has grown significantly in recent years. Quantuma is part of K3 Advisory Group, one of the most ambitious and fastest growing advisory firms in the UK.

Work is received from a wide range of law firms in the UK and overseas, with few conflicts of interest experienced by the firm. The Managing Directors are instructed in some of the highest profile litigation and arbitration matters in the UK. They have significant witness box experience. However, unlike many teams, we also undertake smaller assignments, allowing team members exposure to a wide range of work.

The primary areas of work for the Forensic Team are expert witness and advisory services in disputes (eg shareholder disputes, M&A related disputes, breach of contract, negligence claims etc). In addition to commercial disputes, the Forensic Team undertakes work in personal injury and medical negligence, matrimonial, compulsory purchase, fraud, and criminal matters. They work with colleagues in insolvency and corporate finance, assisting with valuations and disputes where appropriate.

In the next few months, Quantuma will merge with fellow K3 Advisory Group company, KR8 Advisory, to create one of the UK’s leading advisory firms with over 300 employees across 11 offices, providing Restructuring & Insolvency, Real Estate Advisory, Forensic Accounting, Valuations and eDiscovery services to the UK market.

About the role

Ongoing growth in workflows means that the Forensic Team is now seeking to recruit another Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) into the team in Manchester.

As a member of the Forensic Team, you will work on a range of projects and engagements and support Experts on cases. Team members are given autonomy and encouraged to develop their careers, with full support of the Managing Directors and other senior team members.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Preparing valuation calculations using cost, market and income approaches, including researching comparable deals and suitable indices

• Supporting Experts in a range of forensic engagements – shareholder disputes, M&A related disputes, Matrimonial disputes, negligence claims and personal injury and clinical negligence claims

• Drafting well written expert witness and advisory reports in disputes involving valuation, loss of profits etc

• Creating and enhancing relationships with referrers and clients through providing outstanding client service and attending events

Ideally you will be a recently Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) with some experience in forensic accounting looking to develop your experience in disputes, valuations and Investigations. We would also be interested in those who are keen to embark on a career within Forensic Accounting who perhaps do not yet have any direct experience in this field but have experience in another project based service line such as corporate finance, due diligence or insolvency and feel they have the commitment to develop forensic accounting skills.
