Screwfix Direct Ltd. in Greater London is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Retail Branch Manager, drive store performance, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

You’ll lead a team, manage rotas and stock, and travel to neighbouring stores as needed to ensure smooth operations in a fast-moving retail environment with strong training and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting the Branch Manager in day-to-day operations, from front-of-house to warehouse
• Leading and motivating your team to deliver outstanding customer service
• Managing rotas, payroll, budgets, and stock to keep the store running smoothly
• Driving performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Representing the store during high-profile visits and showcasing best practice
• Multi-skill between counter, picking, delivery support, and local outreach activities to build trade relationships and community connections.
• Be a team player beyond your own store by travelling to neighbouring locations when required, whether through staffing, training, or operational support
