Assistant Manager – Care Home

We are looking for an Assistant Manager who will support the Home Manager and Deputy Manager in the running of the home and work in a direct care capacity on a day‑to‑day basis. The role ensures the home is operating to a high standard, including maintaining adequate staffing and implementing staff training.

Contract Information

Contract: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Location: Aylesbury – St Leonards
Rate of Pay: To be discussed at interview

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager and Deputy Manager in the efficient and caring running of the home.
  • Supervise staff and work in direct care capacity on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Report directly to the Home Manager or their appointed representative.
  • Assume duties of the Manager/Deputy Manager in their absence, ensuring compliance with proprietors, Local Authority, Social Services and Fire Prevention Officer requirements.
  • Develop, implement and maintain appropriate staff training.
  • Manage ordering, recording, administration and disposal of the home’s medication system.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate staffing levels and correct mix of staff.
Qualifications & Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Experience in dementia care.
