Overview
As an Assistant Manager at Halfords in Grantham, you will work alongside the Centre Manager to drive profitability, focusing on delivering an outstanding customer journey. You will spend your time between the workshop, coaching technicians, and assisting with daily sales and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through effective management and leadership.
- Coaching, training, and developing colleagues on the spot.
- Assist the Centre Manager with daily sales, customer service, and workshop operations.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety standards.
Qualifications
- Previous hands‑on mechanic or similar management experience in a workshop environment.
- Strong technical / mechanical knowledge, ideally supported by a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience).
- Solid understanding of workshop operations, diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance processes.
- IT proficiency and willingness to learn in‑house systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Full, valid driving licence.
