Job summary

Loungers Expo Lounge is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager to support the General Manager, lead a team, and ensure every guest leaves happy. This full-time role includes a 48-hour contract option (40 hours also available) and excellent progression prospects within our growing brand across England and Wales.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality leadership roles such as Supervisor, Assistant Manager or Deputy.
• Strong communication and team-motivation skills.
• Able to manage shifts, customer issues and stock and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts (opens/closes/weekends) and delegate tasks to the team.
• Coach staff with regular feedback to maintain a positive work environment.
• Monitor rotas, labour, KPIs, and support the General Manager when needed.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and uphold allergen and food safety standards.
• Assist in recruitment and onboarding of new starters.
• Be a welcoming presence on the floor and bolster the Lounges reputation locally.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a variety of shifts (opens/closes/weekends) — from pre-shift briefings and delegating to your team, always engaging and motivating the team throughout
• Coach your team through regular and honest feedback, creating a place people genuinely want to work
• Understand rotas, stock, labour, KPIs (NPS, sales, gross profit) — and know how to support your General Manager when things aren't where they should be
• Handle escalated customer complaints with confidence and good judgement, and maintain allergen and food safety standards across the team
• Support recruitment of new starters and help them feel set up to succeed from day one
• Be a visible, welcoming host on the floor and help build your Lounges reputation as the go-to spot in the local community
