Job summary

Modelo Lounge, part of Loungers, is hiring a full-time Assistant Manager to support the team and General Manager. You’ll lead shifts, coach staff, and help ensure every guest leaves happy while fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere across our 300+ sites nationwide.

This role offers a clear path for progression within the Loungers group, with available in-house training and development programmes. Competitive salary plus bonus and overtime is included.

Qualifications

• Hospitality experience required; experience as supervisor, deputy or assistant manager preferred.
• Proven ability to lead shifts, motivate staff and deliver great guest experiences.
• Strong team coaching, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a variety of shifts (opens/closes/weekends) and delegate tasks to the team.
• Coach and give regular feedback to staff to maintain performance.
• Manage rotas, stock, labour, KPIs and support the General Manager with goals.
• Handle customer complaints with confidence while upholding food safety standards.
• Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new starters.
• Be an approachable on-floor host and help build the lounge's reputation in the local community.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a variety of shifts (opens/closes/weekends) — from pre-shift briefings and delegating to your team, always engaging and motivating the team throughout
• Coach your team through regular and honest feedback, creating a place people genuinely want to work
• Understand rotas, stock, labour, KPIs (NPS, sales, gross profit) — and know how to support your General Manager when things aren't where they should be
• Handle escalated customer complaints with confidence and good judgement, and maintain allergen and food safety standards across the team
• Support recruitment of new starters and help them feel set up to succeed from day one
• Be a visible, welcoming host on the floor and help build your Lounges reputation as the go-to spot in the local community
