A welcoming pub in London is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to foster a positive environment for both staff and guests. You will lead the team, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and manage daily operations. The ideal candidate has strong hospitality and leadership skills, with prior experience in management. This role offers flexible working hours and opportunities for professional development.
We have an amazing opportunity for an Assistant Manager who doesn’t just serve food—they craft experiences. If you’re the sort of person who gets a genuine thrill from turning a regular Tuesday into someone’s favourite memory then we should probably talk.
We’re looking for someone who sees potential everywhere: in that shy new server who just needs encouragement, in the regular customer who’s having a rough day in the quiet corner table that could use a bit more atmosphere. You understand that exceptional pubs aren’t built on good intentions alone—they require someone with the drive to turn vision into reality.
This isn’t about following a manual or ticking boxes. We need someone who can think on their feet, solve problems before they become problems and genuinely care about both the team they’re leading and the guests they’re serving. Someone who understands that genuine hospitality is built one interaction at a time.
At The Hand in Hand we understand that exceptional hospitality begins with how we treat our own. You’ll join a family where your wellbeing, growth and success are genuinely prioritised. We believe our team is the true foundation of everything we achieve, which is why we invest in support you and celebrate your contributions every step of the way.
We don’t see this merely as a job opportunity; it’s an invitation to become custodian of a treasured community hub. Our guests—ranging from dog-walkers to discerning diners to local legends—return time and again for our sincere hospitality, exceptional real ales and generous plates of honest delicious fare.
And it’s not just the day-to-day. We’ll be plotting our next ale festival, organising community fundraisers or perfecting our legendary Man vs Santa Mince Pie Eating Contest. Not to mention our regular Meet the Brewer nights that somehow always end up far more entertaining than expected. If you like the idea of working in a fast-paced, busy pub that has community at its core then apply now!
Our landlord Andrew drives his business with unrivalled passion and has seen many managers come through his doors, many of whom have become successful GMs, Ops Managers & Directors.
Expect comprehensive development plans as well as access to all sorts of courses and development opportunities as well as fully funded apprenticeships—all that to ensure you can get the best out of yourself at your own pace.
Ready to write your next chapter in hospitality excellence? We’re waiting to meet you.
