Description
The Assistant Management Accountant position has a focus on Austria GAAP accounting, month end, Accounts receivables, cash forecasting, as well as local regulatory obligations. The role provides support for the Global Finance Organization of Aurorium. This role is reporting to the European Finance Manager.
This Liverpool-based role would benefit greatly from candidates with fluency in German.
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Weekly cash flow forecasts
- Daily cash management
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Preparation of all legally required mandatory reports to various authorities (e.g. Sales tax return, ZM, excise tax reports)
- Representation of accounts payable in exceptional cases
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports to global and local recipients.
- Prepare consolidated GAAP statements as well as statutory statements under UGB and working closely with the appointed auditors to ensure a smooth and timely submission of financials.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports to global and local recipients.
- Ensure that all statutory reporting requirements are met within the timetable.
- To support the preparation of the annual company budget package.
- Serve as the point person for all questions/requests/report preparation during internal and external audit processes.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts with the team working closely with the appointed auditors to ensure a smooth and timely submission of financials.
- Manage relationships with local authorities and banks, ensuring all requests and deadlines are met efficiently, maintaining a strong relationship.
- Assist with your team balance sheet accounts and supporting documentation, communicating with site controllers and Finance Manager on unusual fluctuations.
- Adhere to internal audit procedures for the Austrian business.
- Coordination of Austrian tax compliance
- Support Finance Manager in times of absence
- Support inventory provisioning and stock count deviations, support stock count processes.
- Provide ad hoc support to the European finance team.
- To undertake other duties as may be required.
- As part of the European finance team, support the development of systems and processes driving automation and efficient use of system tools available.

- SAP FI/SD/MM competence
- Advanced Excel skills (V-lookups/Pivot Tables) and the ability to operate, develop, implement and improve IT systems
- Management/financial accounting skills
- In‑depth knowledge of business processes/management systems
- Able to business partner with the Site Manager
- Results oriented; sets aggressive goals for self and team
- Previous plant operations experience
- Strong interpersonal skills

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or equivalent
- CPA preferred
- 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
Experience (industry and job specific)
- Ideally will possess a minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience preferably gained within industry/manufacturing environment.
- Chemical manufacturing background preferred
