About us

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant ideally with bothpurchase ledger and accounts receivable experience to join our growing finance team. This role is critical in supporting our day-to-day financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts payable processes.

This role sits at the heart of an exciting new venture between Jameel Motors and GAC, established to introduce the AION range of intelligent electric vehicles to the UK market.

As part of the launch team, you will help establish and grow AION Auto UK combining GAC’s cutting-edge EV innovation with Jameel Motors’ deep automotive expertise to deliver a new benchmark in electric mobility.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the brand’s presence from the ground up — contributing to strategy, execution, and the creation of a customer experience that reflects the innovation, intelligence, and ambition behind AION.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
  • Prepare payment runs and liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries
  • Support month-end closing by providing relevant ledger information and reconciliations
  • Assist with the coding and posting of invoices in line with company procedures
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper approvals and documentation
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist with general accounting duties as required
  • Support audit processes by providing necessary purchase ledger documentation
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Strong experience within a similar role previously, and able to deal with ambiguity and a fast paced start up environment
  • Part qualified or working towards relevant accountancy qualifications (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or equivalent, with a strong understanding of management accounting principles.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial controls
  • Experience with financial analysis, cost control, and process improvement.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams
