Candidates should therefore be confident in liaising with budget managers, have excellent communication skills and be able to use their initiative to solve problems and work as a supportive and efficient team member, with good attention to detail.

The main duties of the Assistant Management Accountant include, but are not limited to:

  • To support the processing of all interfaces between financial systems and the general ledger
  • To work with the Senior Finance Team to ensure that annual income and expenditure budgets are prepared in a timely manner, ensuring that they meet the Trust's financial and clinical objectives
  • Preparation of the monthly financial position and performance reports, including budget monitoring, forecasting and variance analysis, commenting on influencing factors
  • Support the Expenditure & Systems Accountant in the maintenance of the coding structure held within all financial systems
  • Support the Expenditure & Systems Accountant in the maintenance of delegated expenditure limits and coding structure within the Trust purchase ordering system
