Job summary

A leading housing association in the UK is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join its supportive Finance Business Partnering team. Proactive and analytical candidates who enjoy making improvements will thrive in this role. Key responsibilities include providing financial insights and variance analysis, while partnerships with budget holders will be essential for informed decision-making. The role is predominantly home-based with occasional travel required.

Qualifications

Assistant Management Accountant

We’re looking for someone like you to join our vibrant, supportive Finance Business Partnering team as an Assistant Management Accountant. As our Assistant Management Accountant, you will be a trusted partner to the business. You will work closely with the Finance Business Partner to provide meaningful insight and analysis that supports decision‑making across the organisation. You will take ownership of reporting for specific cost centres, deliver clear variance analysis, and build strong relationships with budget holders, helping them make informed, confident choices. If you are proactive, analytical, and enjoy using your initiative to make improvements, this may be the role for you! You will work with a variety of teams and contribute to business improvement and change initiatives.

What do we need from you?
  • AAT Level 4 (or equivalent), with evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
  • Experience in accounting within a large, complex organisation with significant budgets
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Experience of providing accounting information to challenging deadlines
  • Experience of interpreting information, carrying out research, analysing complex data, appraising performance, and managing risk
  • Passionate about providing an excellent customer‑driven service
  • Experience of using digital technology within a finance environment
  • A proven track record of delivering results in a fast‑paced and changing environment
Working Arrangements

While this role is home‑based, you should have the ability to occasionally travel to Group offices and other locations as required. Our Group offices are located at Birmingham Business Park, Solihull and Central Park, Worcester.
