The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world's leading public health universities.

Library, Archive & Open Research Services (LAORS) is looking for an Assistant Librarian who is an experienced information literacy teacher to expand the existing Information Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to actively contribute to the development of the annual information skills programme during a time of exciting change in LSHTM's education programmes. This post will be responsible for ensuring developments in universal design principles and accessible pedagogy are successfully integrated into the programme.

The post-holder will also contribute to the evidence-synthesis literature searching service which provides support to staff undertaking evidence synthesis projects and collaborates with research teams to create literature searches to published methodological standards.

You will hold a recognised postgraduate degree in library & information science. It is essential that you have proven experience of effectively delivering information literacy teaching and support to adults informed by universal design for learning or accessibility best practice, preferably in a higher education or medical library environment. Being customer focused with the ability to work together with service users from diverse backgrounds and life experiences are also essential.

The post holder is required to work 09:00-17:00 Monday-Friday. All full-time LAORS staff work a minimum of 2 days on site per week but may be required to work additional days on site as the nature of the role or demand on the service dictates.

The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term for 24 months.

The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 5 in the range £39,984 - £45,728 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year. In addition to this there are discretionary "Wellbeing Days". Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
