Job summary

GEDU Global Education invites applications for an Assistant Lecturer across multiple London metropolitan campuses. This 12-month programme involves tutoring, lecturing, administration and professional duties to deliver high-quality educational experiences to students.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in the relevant field, have health industry experience, and show prior teaching or supervision of student work.

Qualifications

• You will hold at least a Master’s degree in your academic field or demonstrate equivalent professional achievement.
• Previous experience in health industry as a health practitioner is required.
• Experience supervising student work and providing feedback.
• Demonstrated teaching in your field and ability to work with staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classes and assess student work to meet learning outcomes.
• Provide academic support and guidance to students as needed.
• Assist Module Leaders in planning lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions.
• Develop, update and improve course materials as required.
• Embed technologies to enhance the learning experience and keep best practice.
• Attend meetings and work with teams across GBS.

The role:The Assistant Lecturer programme is a 12 month programme under the supervision of an experienced member of staff and you will be responsible for performing a range of tutoring, lecturing, administration, professional duties, and other activities to deliver a high-quality educational experience to our students.

As an Assistant Lecturer you are responsible for engaging students in the learning processes to ensure student outcomes are maximised and for contributing to the development of a range of subjects across the curriculum.

Please note this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

What you'll be doing:

• Deliver classes and assess student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met.
• Provide academic support and guidance to students as necessary
• Assist Module Leaders and other senior staff in the planning of lectures, tutorials,practical'sand other classes.
• Develop, update, and improve course materials asappropriateand necessary.
• Keep up to date with best practice in teaching andlearning, andensure that your teaching reflects best practice and embeds technologies that enhance the learning experience.
• Attend meetings asrequired, anddevelop productive working relationships within the various teams that you will be engaged with.
• Undertake a reflective programme of staff development which includes teaching observations, directed study and workshop participation.
• Participate in the GBS performance management programme, meeting a range of clearly definedobjectivesfor student outcomes, student satisfaction,retentionand attendance.
• Take on other responsibilities as mayreasonably berequiredto support the work of GBS

About You:

• You will hold at leastMaster'sdegree in your academicfield, orbe able todemonstratean equivalent level of professional achievement.
• Previousexperience of working in the health industry as a health practitioner
• Evidence of supervising student work and providing support and feedback
• Evidence of teaching in your field.
• Demonstrate professional conduct in all interactions with staff and students.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
• Attention to detail andaccuratereporting.
• Ability tomaintainthorough and organised student records.
• Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines.
• Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
• Previouslecturing experience withinUKHigher Education
• Previoustraining experience to large groups abouthealth relatedsubjects
