Job summary

MEC is recruiting an Assistant Land Surveyor / Land Surveyor to join its Geomatics team in the Midlands. The role covers topographical land surveys, measured building surveys, and liaising with the Geomatics team to deliver high-quality outputs. Travel across the UK and a valid UK driving licence are essential.

For junior candidates there is on‑the‑job learning and progression; experienced candidates will take on greater responsibility for project delivery, QA and client liaison.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking topographical land surveys and measured surveys within time and budget.
• Liaison with Geomatics team to deliver on time and to standard.
• Office processing and survey drawing/ report production.
• Method Statements and Risk Assessments preparation.
• For Surveyor level: conduct Land Surveys per client specs; data capture and production of drawings/reports.
• Quality assurance and rigorous checking of deliverables.
• On-site client liaison regarding H&S and project specs.
• Travel across UK; potential overnight stays.
• Mentoring junior team members.
