Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of an Assistant HR Business Partner, on a 4.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay

£27.00 - £34.70 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely HR advice in line with Council policies and employment law
  • Support and coach managers with HR issues including disciplinary, grievance, and attendance
  • Liaise with trade unions and represent HR in meetings regarding employee matters
  • Manage redeployment opportunities and support job evaluations
  • Analyse and present HR data and trends (e.g., absence, grievances, performance)
Essential Requirements
  • CIPD qualified or working towards
  • Solid experience providing HR advice in a complex organisation
  • Experience managing HR casework (disciplinary, grievance, sickness, performance)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and data analysis skills
