About the Role

As Assistant Headteacher (Teaching & Learning), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience for our students and staff. Reporting directly to the Headteacher, you will:

  • Deputise for the Headteacher and Deputy Headteachers when required.
  • Be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to whole‑school strategic development.
  • Lead and oversee key areas, including (but not limited to):
    • Teaching & learning strategy
    • CPD programme and INSET days
    • Staff appraisals and performance management
    • Quality assurance
    • Homework systems and ClassCharts
    • Staff induction and tutoring programmes
    • ECT/ITE programmes

Brookfield Community School is part of Redhill Academy Trust. The Academy is also a member of Redhill College of Leadership and Development and as such there are excellent CPD opportunities and a chance to work alongside colleagues from other high‑performing schools in the region. The Trust also leads the regional Teaching School Hub, delivering local teacher training and the National Professional Qualifications for teachers.
