Job summary

Oak Tree School in Truro is seeking an ambitious Assistant Headteacher to join its leadership team. You will work with the Headteacher to drive high standards, strengthen teaching and learning, and support staff wellbeing across the school.

This role offers visible, hands-on leadership and close involvement in everyday school life. You will lead strategic development, monitor progress, coach colleagues and promote an inclusive culture to ensure the best outcomes for pupils aged 5–18.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or equivalent.
• A relevant degree.
• Proven leadership experience within education.
• The ability to inspire, support and develop colleagues while maintaining high expectations.
• A strong commitment to delivering high quality, individualised education.
• A collaborative and aspirational approach to leadership.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• The confidence to make considered decisions in the best interests of pupils.
