Assistant Head Teacher (with Teaching Responsibility)

Location: Turves Green
Contract: Full Time - 05/01/2025 to 17/07/2025 (with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate)

Are you an ambitious, dedicated and forward-thinking leader looking to make a real impact in a warm and inclusive primary school? We are seeking an Assistant Head Teacher to join our team from January 2025, with a blend of leadership and hands‑on teaching responsibilities.

As Assistant Head Teacher, you will play a key part in shaping the strategic direction of the school while supporting high‑quality teaching and learning across the setting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or emerging leader ready to take the next step.

Responsibilities

• 3 days out of class, supporting school improvement, coaching staff and contributing to whole‑school development.
• 2 days teaching and supporting phonics in Year 1, delivering high‑quality sessions and raising attainment.
• Taking on Senior Leadership Team (SLT) responsibilities, contributing to decision‑making and supporting the operational and strategic needs of the school.
• Leading on behaviour management, modelling best practice and working collaboratively with staff to maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
