As Assistant Headteacher, you will support the Headteacher with both the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the school. You will help drive our mission to deliver high-quality education tailored to each pupil's individual needs, ensuring they thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Oak Tree School in Truro has recently expanded and developed two new buildings and undergone a successful Ofsted inspection, allowing us to offer a wider age range of pupils from 5 – 18 years the opportunity to have the best education possible. The school is a specialist SEMH provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall and provides full-time specialist co‑education for up to 135 pupils and young people aged 5 to 18 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and champion the school's vision, values, and ethos
  • Contribute to the development of school aims, policies, and strategic objectives
  • Support the Headteacher in the operational leadership of the school
  • Monitor and evaluate school performance, teaching quality, and pupil outcomes
  • Lead, support and develop staff to achieve whole-school goals
  • Manage resources effectively to drive continuous improvement
  • Uphold public trust through the highest standards of ethics, conduct, and professionalism
