Job summary

Zizzi is seeking an Assistant Head Chef in London to lead shifts, run the pass, and inspire the team in a fast-paced kitchen that serves dine-in and delivery orders. You’ll partner with the Head Chef to balance guest experience with efficiency and cost control.

You’ll coach junior chefs, drive food quality to Italian standards, and maintain safety and cleanliness in a high-volume environment. A pathway to Head Chef is highlighted in the role.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous, or Senior Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Love of Italian food, consistency, and high standards.
• Confident leader who can run a shift and motivate a team.
• Ability to stay calm, organised, and guide the team during busiest times.
• Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including stock management, wastage, and labour control.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen and run the pass in the Head Chef's absence, keeping service flawless, fast, and on point.
• Deliver exceptional food quality and consistent results across dine-in and delivery orders.
• Support management by hitting kitchen performance metrics with stock, labour, prepping, and cost control.
• Coach and develop junior chefs, sharing skills to build confidence and team spirit.
• Ensure kitchen safety, cleanliness, and food safety compliance.

About the role:

As an Assistant Head Chef, you have a vital leadership role in our open kitchen.
