Job summary

Paul Rhodes Bakery Ltd in Greenwich (SE10 9PJ) is seeking a Production Team Leader to supervise the shift, ensure on-time output to spec, and maintain quality and safety standards. Shifts run 12PM–9PM, with duties including coaching staff and maintaining records.

You will lead a bakery production team, manage HACCP and allergen controls, and collaborate with the Head Baker to drive process improvements and reduce waste while upholding high standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supervising or leading a team in a bakery or food production environment.
• Good knowledge of food safety, HACCP and allergen management.
• Strong organisation and planning skills, with the ability to keep production running to time and to standard.
• Attention to detail in quality checks and record keeping.
• Clear communication and leadership skills, and the confidence to guide, motivate and support a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the production team on shift, allocating tasks so that production plans are met on time and to specification.
• Monitor output and product quality throughout the shift, and resolve or elevate problems promptly to the Head Baker.
• Make sure recipes, allergen controls, HACCP and company procedures are followed at all times.
• Keep accurate production, batch, traceability and cleaning records.
• Track output, waste and labour efficiency, and help improve processes to reduce waste.
• Support shift planning, rotas, absence cover and handovers between shifts.
• Coach and support bakers and operatives, help train new starters and promote a positive team culture.
• Keep the production area clean, safe and well organised, and report hazards, near-misses and incidents.
• Follow instructions on related issues and help out when required.

Key Responsibilities
