Job summary

PureGym is seeking an Assistant Gym Manager to help lead a team of fitness professionals and elevate member experiences across the club. You will work closely with the Gym Manager to deliver high standards of service and drive membership engagement.

The role requires a genuine passion for fitness, leadership capability, and experience in teaching group exercise. You will contribute to staff development and oversee group exercise offerings, while upholding PureGym’s values.

Qualifications

• L2 qualification in gym instructing (essential).
• Experience teaching group exercise.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent member experience in the club through service and standards, alongside the Gym Manager.
• Support the Gym Manager to recruit, develop talent, and supervise a team of fitness staff.
• Lead and motivate Personal Trainers, Fitness Coaches and Gym Instructors to achieve targets.
• Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for staff.
• Manage Group Exercise and continually improve the GEX offering within the gym.

The Role:

This is a varied role, involved with everything from member experience to team development, you will focus on the following:

• Deliver an excellent member experience in the club through a constant focus on service and standards, alongside the Gym Manager
• Support the Gym Manager to bring in new joiners through different activities, including club outreach and community events
• Team Leadership: Recruit, proactively develop a talent pipeline, train and supervise a team of Personal Trainer/Fitness Coaches and Gym Instructors. Foster a positive and motivating work environment.
• Deliver an excellent member experience in the club through a constant focus on service and standards, alongside the Gym Manager.
• Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for fitness staff to enhance their skills and career growth.
• Group Exercise: manage and improve GEX offering within the gym.

You will play a key part in creating a great place to work - and workout - for both your team and gym members. As an Assistant Gym Manager at PureGym you will support the Gym manager in leading a team of fitness professionals, ensure high-quality service delivery, and contribute to the growth and retention of our membership base.
