Job summary

PureGym is seeking an Assistant Gym Manager to lead a team of fitness professionals, ensuring outstanding member experience and high standards of service. You will support the Gym Manager, drive staff development, and contribute to membership growth through outreach and community events.

You will oversee Personal Trainers, Fitness Coaches and Gym Instructors, delivering training opportunities and a strong coaching culture. This role emphasizes resilience, integrity and a passion for wellbeing.

Qualifications

• L2 qualification in gym instructing and group exercise teaching experience.
• Ability to recruit and develop a talent pipeline and train staff.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality member service and positive coaching.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Personal Trainers, Fitness Coaches and Gym Instructors, ensuring top service levels.
• Support the Gym Manager to recruit and develop new joiners through outreach and community events.
• Provide ongoing training and professional development for fitness staff to enhance skills and careers.
• Manage and improve Group Exercise (GEX) offerings within the gym.
• Foster a positive, motivating work environment and exceptional member experience.

£27,522

The Role:

This is a varied role, involved with everything from member experience to team development, you will focus on the following:

• Deliver an excellent member experience in the club through a constant focus on service and standards, alongside the Gym Manager


• Support the Gym Manager to bring in new joiners through different activities, including club outreach and community events


• Team Leadership: Recruit, proactively develop a talent pipeline, train and supervise a team of Personal Trainer/Fitness Coaches and Gym Instructors. Foster a positive and motivating work environment.


• Deliver an excellent member experience in the club through a constant focus on service and standards, alongside the Gym Manager.


• Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for fitness staff to enhance their skills and career growth.


• Group Exercise: manage and improve GEX offering within the gym.

You will play a key part in creating a great place to work – and workout – for both your team and gym members. As an Assistant Gym Manager at PureGym you will support the Gym manager in leading a team of fitness professionals, ensure high-quality service delivery, and contribute to the growth and retention of our membership base.
