Assistant Gardener - Chipping Campden

Summary

  • In line with our redeployment policy, we’ll prioritise applications from employees who are under formal notice of redundancy.
  • Salary: £12.75 per hour.
  • Contract: Fixed Term until 31-Jan.
  • Hours / working pattern: Part‑time, 22.5 hours per week.
  • Applicants will complete an online assessment instead of submitting a CV or online application form.

What it's like to work here

In this role, you’ll report to the Senior Gardener and be part of a larger team of 14 gardeners and volunteers.

What you'll be doing

Daily responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with the care of the garden.
  • Maintenance of path surfaces and infrastructure.
  • Mulching, hedge cutting and lawn mowing.
  • Working alongside gardeners and a team of volunteers.
  • Talking to the public every day, answering garden‑related questions and explaining your work with pride.
  • Using a wide range of machinery and equipment – tractors, hedge trimmers, pedestrian mowers – with essential training provided.
