A leading entertainment company in the City of London is seeking an assistant Financial Controller. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, experience in statutory compliance, and the ability to manage projects and teams effectively. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior management and contribute to financial reporting for multiple entities. Candidates should be ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or US CPA qualified, with notable experience in a large multinational corporation.
Job Summary
We are looking for a technical accountant who enjoys working in a fast‑moving environment in the Entertainment Industry. This role has a solid reporting line to the Senior Manager Financial Controller – Statutory reporting and Technical UK.
The assistant Financial Controller is responsible for assisting in the accurate preparation and timely dissemination of Financial Statements for 30+ NBCU entities in the UK. This assistant Financial Controller position is a statutory expert that assists the Business Units’ controllers in managing the local statutory audits and annual statutory filing process, filings to local regulatory bodies and any other external financial reporting required (e.g., Companies House, Statistics, Senior Accounting Officer declarations, etc.).
The assistant Financial Controller will work closely with representatives at senior level across all the International BUs (Theatrical, Homevideo, Television Distribution, Networks) from various departments (Fin Ops, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Accounting, FP&A, Corporate Secretary).
The role will require someone with a “can‑do” attitude, excellent project management skills, technical skills and communication skills. The role has a strong advisory function to the Financial Controllers of the various BUs to ensure they preserve the integrity of the financial records and process the transactions accurately and in accordance with the local statutory and tax requirements.
